# Stripe

> Xerg counts products and active subscriptions and lists webhook endpoints.

Read-only on what you allowed. Xerg counts products and active subscriptions and lists webhook endpoints. It never stores customer details.

Only admins and owners can connect services. See [Connecting a service](https://xerg.ai/docs/connect/overview.md) for where to find Connect, refreshing and disconnecting.

## Connect with a key

1. [Open Stripe API keys](https://dashboard.stripe.com/apikeys)
2. Create a restricted key. Set Products, Subscriptions and Webhook Endpoints to Read, and leave the rest at None.
3. Copy the key and paste it into Xerg.

Xerg asks for: Restricted key.

## Or sign in with Stripe

Where Xerg offers **Sign in with Stripe**, you can connect in one click instead of making a key.

Xerg's Stripe App asks for these permissions, and nothing else:

* `product_read`: Count your active products so your team's systems map shows what Stripe sells for you.
* `plan_read`: Read prices attached to products, shown as counts only.
* `subscription_read`: Count active subscriptions, shown as a number on the map. No customer details are read.
* `webhook_read`: List webhook endpoints so the map shows which of your services Stripe calls.
