# Teams and roles

> Workspaces, the four roles, and inviting people.

Each GitHub organization or account the Xerg App is installed on is a workspace, with one shared map.

## Roles

| | Viewer | Member | Admin | Owner |
| - | :-: | :-: | :-: | :-: |
| See the map, its history and every item's details | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Ask Xerg | | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Make coding-agent keys (MCP) | | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Map repos, and refresh a connected service | | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Connect and disconnect services, choose GitHub repos | | | ✓ | ✓ |
| Invite and remove people, change roles | | | ✓ | ✓ |
| Revoke anyone's coding-agent key, clear the map | | | ✓ | ✓ |
| Make other people owners | | | | ✓ |

Viewers are free. Owners, admins and members will be paid seats once billing is live; see [Plans](https://xerg.ai/docs/plans.md). To delete a workspace and everything in it, an owner emails [hello@xerg.ai](mailto:hello@xerg.ai).

## Joining

* **By invite.** Admins and owners invite people by email from **Share**, with a role. The link works for 7 days, and only for that address.
* **Through GitHub.** The first person in through GitHub becomes the owner. Anyone else with access to the workspace's GitHub install joins as a viewer when they sign in. An admin can make them a member.

## Signing in

With an email link, Google or GitHub. The same verified email is one account, whichever way you sign in. Sessions last 30 days and renew while you use Xerg.
